We love to draw custom letters of all kind!
Transforming an idea, a concept, an atmosphere, a vision into a concrete
shape is a very rewarding process–not only for the person doing it but also
for the person using it, of course.
A custom typeface, a wordmark or a lettering always speaks with the voice
you want it to and excels in the surrounding it is intended for. This can
be difficult and sometimes impossible to achieve with a retail font.

Logo
We had the pleasure of working very closely with the fine folks at Lemonate as they began their journey to becoming the first game engine in the browser. Their logo was one of the very first things we worked on.

SZ Sans
Support & character set expansion
For Süddeutsche Zeitung, we expanded the new typeface for their digital platform, adding accented characters, special characters, and an italic style. The typeface has been used across sueddeutsche.de since 2018.

Super Vario
Custom Variable Font
A complete character set isn’t always necessary to make a new typeface worthwhile. A good example is Super Vario, which we drew for the recording studio German Wahnsinn. It’s all uppercase – each character comes in three variations though. The letterforms are inspired by old synthesizer circuit diagrams. Thanks to Variable Font technology, the typeface can be animated online, making the letters dance when you hover over them.
Officina Polychroma

For many years now, our letterpress printer of choice has been Officina Polychroma. When we were asked to design their logo, we didn’t hesitate and had a blast finding the right balance between the spirit of early grotesques and the quirkiness of technically constructed letterforms often found on old printing machines.
